TALLINN, ESTONIA - In the Winters of 2016 and 2017, I visited Tallinn, Estonia for brief 2-3 days stays. I have some new friends there, made during my travels. Estonia is a friendly neighbor to Finland. The two capitals, Helsinki & Tallinn, face each other across the Gulf of Finland, which is 50-miles (80 km) wide . This Gulf is crossed by a relaxing 2-1/2 hour ferry ride.
In my first trip, I visited “Seaplane Harbour”, part of the Estonian Maritime Museum. There is an enclosed building – and an adjacent shipyard. The first 10 images are from there.
In both trips, I visited KUMU - short for "Kunstimuuseum" (Art Museum). It’s a wonderfully-designed building, big enough to display 4 to 5 separate exhibits. As you’ll see, I became fascinated with the Museum’s architecture – and passageways. The next 18 images are from inside KUMU.
The 7 images which follow are from unsupervised wanderings around Tallinn. The last, yet not least, image is of my chosen seat on the ferry rides in 2016 (in both directions). Regrettably, by 2017, the ferry owners had reconfigured some deck areas, and my favorite spot (with the ladies) was no more.
